Amara Elise Montgomery (real name Imogen Rosewood) is one of the main characters in The Vampire Diaries, but then later became one of the main characters in The Originals Season Two. Amara was a powerful witch from the Rosewood Bloodline, but later she turned into a vampire, causing her connection with magic to disappear. But this doesn't stop her, she remained a powerful vampire in her own right. Amara and her younger sister Lyla Montgomery was adopted into the Montgomery Family and was trained to hunt vampires.
Amara is the mother of Lillian Mikaelson, the daughter she had with the Original Vampire, Elijah Mikaelson.
Amara is a member of the Rosewood Family, and the adoptive member of the Montgomery Family and also a member of the Mikaelson Family via her past marriage to Elijah and her daughter Lillian.
