Bloodlines & Betrayal is a continuation and spin-off series following the events of Legacies produced by The CW. The series was greenlit on November 5, 2018.

On February 20, 2019, The CW announced it would premiere on Wednesday at 8:30pm on the Summer-Fall schedule of 2019-2020 television season It premiered on July 10, 2019. The CW announced that Bloodlines & Betrayal was renewed for a second season on December 17, 2019. It was announced on May 25, 2023, that they decided to wrap up the show with it's fifth and final season. The last season premiered on August 30, 2023.

The series mainly stars India Eisley as Clara Mikaelson, Danielle Rose Russell as Hope Mikaelson, Kiana Madeira as Astrid Calloway, Ansel Elgort as Nate Donovan, Nicholas Galitzine as Cassian Duval, and Angela Bassett as Dawn Calloway.

Olsenadores serves as an executive producer and is the one who created the show.

Description Summary

After leaving the Salvatore School, Hope Mikaelson seeks a fresh start at Whitmore College, determined to live life on her own terms. However, her past isn't so easily left behind. When she crosses paths with Clara Mikaelson, her estranged cousin — a tribrid like herself who grew up away from the chaos of the Mikaelson family though despite going to the same school and pairing up multiple times— they quickly realize that their connection is more than just blood.

Their reunion takes a dark turn when they discover that supernatural beings are disappearing, and an ancient order known as The Red Veil has emerged from the shadows. Their mission? To eradicate the Mikaelson bloodline and any supernatural creature who stands in their way.

Alongside their reckless but powerful friend Astrid Calloway, a witch with dangerous magic, 600-year-old vampire, Cassian Duval gets another chance at life, and Nate Donovan, a mortal relative of the Donovans, entangled in their world, Hope and Clara must navigate the challenges of college life while facing enemies older than time itself.

But when the legendary Shadowbind Amulet resurfaces, its dark magic threatens to unravel everything. As secrets from the past come to light, alliances will be tested, sacrifices will be made, and the battle for survival will begin.
