Cassian Elias Ravenwood is a major recurring character in the first season of Legacies, being promoted to a main character in the second season. Cassian is the hybrid son of Elijah Mikaelson and Acantha Ravenwood and the younger half-brother of Amara Ravenwood. He is the grandson of Mikael, Esther Mikaelson, Sorrel Hawthorn, and Celandine Ravenwood. He is also the nephew of Freya, Finn, Niklaus, Kol, Rebekah, and Henrik Mikaelson and Anthea Ravenwood and the grand-nephew of Dahlia. He is the cousin of Freya and Mathias' unborn son; Klaus and Hayley's daughter, Hope Mikaelson; Klaus and Juliette's daughter, Penelope Mikaelson; Kol and Millie's daughter, Jacqueline Mikaelson; Henrik and Davina's daughter, Karina Mikaelson; and Freya and Keelin's son, Finn Mikaelson II.

His middle name, Elias, is a subtle nod towards his father being Elijah and he takes the surname of his mother's side.

Cassian is a member of the Ravenwood Family and the Mikaelson Family. Cassian is by birthright, a member of the Exousia Coven and the Nyström Family.
