Elizabeth ''Elyse'' Genevieve Mikaelson is a main character in Legacies, and a major reccurring character in The Originals before being promoted to a main character in the fifth season, Elyse is the hybrid daughter of Samantha Cohen and Elijah Mikaelson. She is younger half-sister also cousin of Hope Mikaelson and the younger twin sister of Jonathan Mikaelson. She is the granddaughter of Esther Mikaelson, Mikael and Genevieve Cohen and John Gilbert. She is also the niece of Freya, Finn, Kol, Niklaus, Rebekah, Henrik, and Elena Gilbert, and the grand-niece of Dahlia.
Elyse was conceived in The Originals season three episode Bloodlines, and it was revealed that Samantha was pregnant four episodes early in The Originals. She was then born in The Originals season three episode The Darkness Came To Say Hi. As a result of her unique heritage, she is the world's first born witch-vampire hybrid. She inherited her vampire gene from both of her father, while her witch egacy came from her both her parents who is the Original vampire-werewolf hybrid and the son of the Original Witch, and her mother, the heir of Unity Coven. Through her father's vampire lineage, Elyse is vampire royalty.
Elyse is a member of the Mikaelson Family, the Gilbert Family, the Cohen Family. Elyse is by birthright a member of the Unity Coven, as well an unnamed powerful witch family,
