The Rosewood Family is a family of powerful witches featured in Season Two of The Vampire Diaries. They was originally in England in 1200s, then moving around over the years and eventually ending up in Mystic Falls, Virginia. They are known for their ancestral magic.
Family Members[]
- George Rosewood: George was Gwendolyn's husband and the father of Margaret, Alexander, Eleanor and Victor Rosewood. He was most likely to be born in England in the 1250s. George was the head of the Rosewood Family and a powerful witch. He sought out to try and control Niklaus Mikaelson from inheriting his werewolf gene, and then later on, Klaus kills George Rosewood.
- Gwendolyn Rosewood: Gwendolyn was George's wife, and the mother of Margaret, Alexander, Eleanor and Victor Rosewood. Gwendolyn was a powerful witch, she was known for her deep connection to ancestral magic. She created a bloodline spell to ensure if the Rosewood name live on, their magic will never die out unless they was turn into a vampire. Later, when Margaret was showing signs as a Siphoner, Gwendolyn tried to talk to the ancestors and get them to change Margaret but it was no use, so Gwendolyn decided to outcast Margaret from the family. Later on in life, Gwendolyn decided to follow George and try to attack Niklaus Mikaelson but then she was killed by him.
- Margaret Rosewood: Margaret is the oldest sibling of the Rosewood bloodline. Margaret was born May 8, 1276 in England. Margaret from a early age she shown signs that she was siphoner, a witch who has no power of their own and has to get it from other supernatural forces. Her mother, Gwendolyn tried to change her but it didn't work, so she resulted into isolating Margaret from her siblings. In 1298, Klaus murders her whole family but Elijah came and turned Margaret since she was about to die, making Margaret the first heretic to ever live. Margaret lived her life after that traveling around the world. She later came to Mystic Falls in 1864, and meets Damon and Stefan Salvatore and she meets Katerina Petrova for the first time. Margaret had a thing for Damon at the time but he loved Katherine, so Margaret didn't interfere but after the brothers turned, Margaret and Damon traveling around together until Margaret had to leave him. Years go by and Margaret makes her return to Mystic Falls in 2010, she meets the new generation and some old foes and friends, some years go by and she meets Malachai Parker, a siphoner from the Gemini Coven. They were enemies at first but then later on, Margaret and Malachai had twins together, Madeline and Christopher Rosewood, making the twins the first ever naturally born heretics.
- Aldric Rosewood: Edric's father and the grandson of Eleanor Rosewood. Aldric was a powerful witch and the son of Evangeline Rosewood. Aldric trained Edric for most of his life until Aldric untimely death.
- Edric Rosewood: Edric is the great-grandson of Eleanor Rosewood. He was born October 20, 1345 in France. Edric was a powerful witch during his youth, his father Aldric trained him in his youth until his death. Edric was friends with a vampire but didn't know it. Edric soon came to realize that his friend was a vampire, and the vampire attacks Edric but ends up turning him into a vampire, and Edric soon lost his connection to magic. Once turned, Edric killed his sire and turned off his humanity. Years with his humanity off, Edric comes to terms with his newfound vampire power and turned it back on. Years later, Edric goes to Mystic Falls in search of Margaret Rosewood, his distant relative.
