The Red Veil is an ancient and highly secretive faction dedicated to eradicating uncontrolled supernatural entities, particularly those of the Mikaelson bloodline. Unlike other organizations such as the Augustine Society, which focused on studying supernatural creatures, or The Strix, which sought to preserve vampire aristocracy, The Red Veil exists solely to maintain what they believe to be the natural balance between humanity and the supernatural.
They operate from the shadows, influencing supernatural conflicts, orchestrating the downfall of powerful beings, and ensuring that no single bloodline becomes dominant. With centuries of experience in hunting and eradicating supernatural threats, they have now turned their attention to Hope and Clara Mikaelson, whom they consider the greatest threats to balance the world has ever known. And ever since Matthias' wife, Annie was killed by Klaus Mikaelson whilst trying to protect her daughter, their drive to kill the Mikaelson bloodline has grown stronger.

Origins & Formation[]
The Red Veil dates back to the early 14th century, originally formed by a clandestine group of human warriors, witches, and rogue vampires who sought to prevent supernatural beings from disrupting the natural world. Their founding principle was simple: supernatural creatures were unnatural, and the longer they lived, the more dangerous they became.
Throughout the centuries, The Red Veil evolved from a secret society of hunters into a sophisticated network of supernatural assassins, spies and researchers. Their influence spread across Europe, particularly during the Renaissance, when they began systematically hunting down powerful supernatural families. While the Mikaelsons were always a subject of interest, The Red Veil remained largely in the shadows, waiting for the right time to strike.
Conflicts with The Mikaelsons[]
The Red Veil first attempted to eliminate the Mikaelsons during the 1700s, but their efforts failed due to the Originals' overwhelming power. They later tried to manipulate Esther Mikaelson into destroying her children, but their efforts, once again, were thwarted.
In the 20th century, The Red Veil played a role in various supernatural conflicts, including the rise of the Augustine Society. Though they never fully allied with Augustine, they occasionally shared information and resources, seeing Augustine's vampire experiments as a useful tool in their larger mission.
With the birth of Hope Mikaelson and the emergence of Clara Mikaelson, The Red Veil saw an unprecedented threat — two powerful supernatural beings from the very bloodline they had spent centuries trying to eradicate. Victor Blackwood, the current leader, made it his mission to ensure that Hope and Clara Mikaelson would not survive a full life.
